James Lee Pipke

James Lee Pipke, 32, of 1226 S. Oakland St., died at 1 a.m. today in St. Joseph Hospital. An autopsy was performed to determine the cause of death. He was born in Walkerton on May 20, 1936.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Pipke of South Bend, five brothers, Richard, Bruce, and William, all of South Bend, and Allen stationed with the U.S. Air Force in Turkey, and Harold of Niles; and a sister, Mrs. Evelyn Lupa of South Bend.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. Thursday in Hollis Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, with Rev. Ronald Seitz, pastor of Emmaus Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
Mr. Pipke served with the U.S. Air Force for four years. He was employed by Gates Chevrolet Corp. body shop.
Funeral services have been postponed one day until 1:30 p.m. Sunday to allow Allen Pipke, a brother who is stationed with the Air Force in Turkey, to attend. The services will be in the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer.
