SOUTH BEND - Casinia L. Dixon, 63, resident of South Bend, passed away peacefully at 10:25am on Monday, July 3, 2017 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. She was born on July 5, 1953 in Dresden, TN, to the late Frank Wayne and Barbara Jean (Rogers) Alley.

Mrs. Dixon is survived by her husband, Dennis Herbert Dixon, Sr.; her daughter, Cassidy LaJoi (fiance Terrence Reid, Sr.) Dixon of Mishawaka; her son, Dennis Herbert Dixon, Jr., of South Bend; her sister, Debra L. Bonds of South Bend; two sisters-of-love, Vanessa Hill and Jacquilne Nunn; six special grandchildren, Aundrea, Terrence Jr., Termel, DeKorii, Caiden, and Cariah, all of South Bend; favorite aunt, Ithel Robertson of California; favorite uncle, Charles Alley of Dresden, TN. She leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Casinia was preceded in death by her brother, Anthony Wayne Alley.

Casinia worked as a telephone operator at Indiana Bell for 16 years, and then was promoted in her new position at Ameritech, where she was employed for more than 14 years. She was a longtime faithful member at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of South Bend where she served as a church nurse. Casinia spent most of her lifetime in South Bend, having moved from Tennessee at an early age. She graduated from University of Tennessee with a bachelor's degree in social work

Funeral services for Casinia will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Palmer Funeral Homes-West Chapel, 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend, IN. Pastor Andre McGhee will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00am-12:00pm on Saturday at the funeral home, prior to services.
