June 27, 1952 in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Bobbie Nell Bucher and the late Thomas Ward Bucher, passed peacefully and heroically surrounded by family and friends at age 66 on August 4, 2018 in Sacramento, California. He was known to his family and many friends as a soul of kindness and generosity. He loved helping people and his spirit touched the hearts of those around him. Keith remains a bright light on this planet. Keith served in the Marines by playing the French horn in the Marine Corps Band in Washington, D.C, including at the White House. He also played in the Lamplighters Theater Group in the Bay Area. His musical talent was put to good use with the Sacramento Symphony and Philharmonic orchestras and at many venues throughout Northern California. Keith was the beloved husband of Tamar Wishnatzky Bucher. He was preceded in death by his brother, Russell Bucher. He is survived by his daughter and son-in law Aviva and Mathew Calmer, and his adored grandchildren Sol and Erev Calmer. He also leaves behind his greatly loved cat, Homer. Keith delighted in playing with his grandchildren, and enjoyed golfing, photography, bird watching and making honey. He also loved trains and working on computers. Keith was an excellent computer problem trouble-shooter for family and friends. He was a member of Sacramento Buddhist Meditation Group, and he was a board member of the Sacramento Musicians Union. Donations may be made in Keith's name to the Sacramento Dharma Center, the Gastro Internal Stroma Tumors Organization and Lamplighters Theater Group. The world is a better place for the years Keith Bucher lived.
