Kevin C. Keating, 47, of Clarkston, Mich., formerly of South Bend, Ind., died Friday in St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Pontiac, Mich.
Kevin was born on Jan. 27, 1953, in South Bend to James Edward Keating and Marcella C. (Connors) Keating. He was a graduate of John Adams High School, and had been employed by Frito-Lay for seven years.
He was married to Patti Smith, who survives. Also surviving are his mother, Marcella Keating of South Bend; a sister, Kathleen (Richard) Quigley of St. Clair, Mich.; and by a brother, Jim (Holly) Keating of Tampa, Fla. Kevin is the son-in-law of Eugene F. and Patricia Smith of Hobart, Ind. He is also survived by his faithful canine companion, Babe; one niece; seven nephews and 13 great-nieces and -nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday in the HICKEY Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson, with Rev. Anthony Szakaly, C.S.C., pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, South Bend, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the Hickey Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson.
