SOUTH BEND - Regina “Jean” Perkins, 62, of South Bend, IN, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at The Center for Hospice Care in South Bend.

Regina was born June 15, 1953, in South Bend, IN, to Leroy Perkins and Marjorie (Howell) Perkins, who preceded her in death.

Regina is survived by one son, Damon (Curita) Watford of South Bend, IN; sister, Ramona Perkins of South Bend; brothers, Reginald (Cyresa) Perkins of Fredericksburg, VA, Raynard (Tamara) Perkins of Mishawaka, IN, and Rodrick (Tara) Perkins of Clarksville, TN. Also, surviving are 3 grandchildren, Damisha, Damon, and Jaquille; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

After graduation from Adams High School in 1971, Regina was employed at RACO for 22 years. She attended First A.M.E. Zion Church and worked as an Americorps volunteer for United Way. Most recently, she worked as a caregiver. Regina spent endless hours enjoying and caring for her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her family meant the world to her, and she would help anyone in need.

Visitation will be 5 pm to 8 pm on Friday, March 11th, at Alford's Mortuary, 1222 Napier Street, South Bend, IN, with the funeral service to follow on Saturday, March 12th, at 3 pm at First AME Zion Church, 801 N. Eddy Street, South Bend. Rev. Johnny Johnson, Jr. will officiate.
