SOUTH BEND - Charles S. Juhas Jr., 65, of South Bend, passed away at 4:40 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, in his home. Mr. Juhas was born on October 18, 1942, in South Bend, to the late Charles and Carrie (Smolka) Juhas.

He had remained a lifelong resident of South Bend. Mr. Juhas retired from the Bendix Corporation where he was employed for 20 years. He attended St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church. Mr. Juhas served his country with the United States Army and was a member of American Legion Post 303, South Bend.

Mr. Juhas is survived by his daughter, Kelly Juhas of Mishawaka; his son, Chris (Melanie Radican) Juhas of South Bend; and his three grandchildren, Josh Juhas, Jennifer Keb and Ryan Juhas.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5, in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, IN. Chaplain Karen Weldy will officiate.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4th, in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park. The Juhas family would like to thank all of Charles' friends for their gracious support. The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care must also be recognized for the wonderful care they gave to Charles.
