Condolences

SOUTH BEND - Bonnie Sikorski, 74, passed away peacefully in her home January 6, 2017, after a long illness.

She was born December 27, 1942, in South Bend IN to the late Joseph John and Julia Regina (Fozo) Nemeth.

On October 26, 1963, Bonnie Jo married the love of her life, Anthony “Tony” Sikorski. He survives her. To their union, they were blessed with one son, Todd (Nancy Fackler) Sikorski of South Bend. She was also a wonderful grandmother to three grandchildren, Joseph and Amanda Sikorski and Tyler Fackler. Also surviving are two nieces, Denise Plencner and Melissa Plajer; four nephews, Brian, Aaron, Adam and John Sikorski; and also, great nieces and nephews that she adored.

Bonnie was a 1960 graduate of John Adams High School. She was employed at DuMor and Continental Industries in Elkhart, and St. Joseph Hospital, the Christian Center, and most recently, St. Mary's College in South Bend.

She had a contagious laugh, and was always warm and inviting. She loved her family more than anything. She loved animals and was a volunteer at Potawatomi Zoo. She, and her husband, enjoyed vacationing in Florida, Ely, Minnesota and Petosky, Michigan. She enjoyed ceramics, various crafts, scrapbooking and attending craft bazaars, and also Euchre club and chatting with friends. She had a heart for the Lord and had been a member of Redeemer Missionary Church for many years. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all that knew her.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 11 from 4-7PM at the McGann Hay, University Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Rd. South Bend. Funeral services will be Thursday at the funeral home at 11:00AM, with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Richard Matteson will be officiating. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Joseph County Humane Society, Potawatomi Zoo, or to the charity of the donor's choice .
