Feb. 27, 1942 - Dec. 24, 1999
Terry M. Colt, 57, of South Lake Drive, Granger, Ind., passed away after an extended illness at 11:45 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 24, in Hospice House of St. Joseph County.
Mr. Colt was born on Feb. 27, 1942, in South Bend, Ind., and was a lifetime resident of the Michiana area. At the time of his death he was the owner and operator of the Colt Motor Company, South Bend. He was in the automobile business for 40 years.
On June 13, 1981, he married Joyce M. Murphy, who survives. He is also survived by his parents, Ralph and Elizabeth Colt of Roseland, Ind.; a daughter, Caroline (Carl) Boynton of Denver, Colo.; a stepdaughter, Kathleen S. (Jim) Welday of Loveland, Ohio; a son, Kim A. Colt of Mishawaka, Ind.; a stepson, William E. Weis of Granger; a granddaughter, Jennifer N. Welday, who he cherished and loved dearly; a sister, Linda Sue (Richard) Kickbusch of Midland, Texas; and by a brother, Larry D. (Elizabeth) Colt, South Bend.
Mr. Colt was a member of South Bend Elks Lodge #235, VFW Post 161, and was a member of the Sheriff's Association. Terry was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Viet Nam Conflict.
Visitation hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 27, in the Hanley & Sons ''Southwest Chapel'' Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road/Indiana 23, South Bend.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 28, in the funeral home, with burial to be private.
The family request that all memorial contributions be made to the Hospice of St. Joseph County or to the charity of donor's choice.
The Hanley and Sons ''Southwest Chapel'' Funeral Home conducted arrangements and services and extend heartfelt sympathy to the Colt family.
