Diane Kelsch (Umbaugh)

Diane Kelsch Umbaugh died at her home in Indianapolis on Thursday, November 3rd, 2016 following a courageous battle with cancer. Diane was born April 17th, 1943 in Indianapolis, graduated from Adams High School in South Bend Indiana, and raised a family for many years in Plymouth Indiana. She moved to Indianapolis to work with her daughter and Truex Appraisal Services in 2000. Diane possessed a lifelong enthusiasm for art and travel, and her outgoing nature, ability to create deep enduring friendships, and intense love of family and friends will be missed by all.

She is survived by two Children, Kimberly (Mimi) Truex of Indianapolis, and Alex Burgin Jr. of Boston. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Jackson Truex (Indianapolis); Alex Burgin, III (San Jose, CA); and Grace Burgin (Seattle, WA). She was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Roll (Indianapolis).

A celebration of her life will be held at the Tube Factory artspace at 1125 Cruft Street, Indianapolis, on Saturday November 19th from noon to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Diane requested that contributions may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in her name (www.dana-farber.org, click "give") so that other families may not suffer in the future.

George H. Winkelmann (1961)

Another Eagle has left this earth.  To all that knew Diane and loved her, you have my, and our JAHS Class of '61 deepest and heartfelt sympathy.  Make every effort to keep Diane's memory alive, sharing memories and stories of her love of life and her family, and friends.  God bless you all with His rich grace, love and comfort during this difficult time, and as you move forward to live a life that's blesses Diane's legacy.  George
