SOUTH BEND -- Larry Leroy McCammon, 61, of Wall Street, was pronounced death in memorial hospital Tuesday after suffering medical problems in the St. Joseph County Jail.
The St. Joseph County coroner Chuck Hurley is investigating the cause of death as medically related.
Survivors include a son, Scott A. of Corvallis, Ore.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Morning Star Funerals & Cremations.

SOUTH BEND -- A 61-year-old jail inmate who called for medical help and died at a local hospital early Tuesday morning had a history of asthma, St. Joseph County coroner Chuck Hurley said.
Larry McCammon's death "appeared to be something medical but there was nothing suspicious" and his body showed no signs of trauma, Hurley said.
An autopsy was performed, but Hurley is awaiting a pathologist's lab studies before officially ruling on a cause and manner of death.
McCammon, in jail since Sept. 15 on a criminal trespassing charge, was scheduled to appear at a Tuesday deposition, St. Joseph County police spokeswoman Jaimee Thirion said.
McCammon called for help when he began experiencing respiratory stress about 12:10 a.m., officials said. A deputy escorted him to the jail's medical unit, where nurses are on call around the clock.
He was given a breathing treatment and three times responded with an affirmative nod when nurses asked if the apparatus was helping, Thirion said.
But about 12:30 a.m., McCammon slipped out of consciousness and paramedics were called to transport him to the hospital, where he died about 15 minutes later.
It was unclear why McCammon's condition worsened, but Hurley didn't believe the breathing treatment added any complications.
According to St. Joseph County Jail records, this was the first time McCammon, a South Bend resident, had been in the facility.
