NILES - Wanda Jo Arend, 78, of Niles, MI, passed away on January 21, 2017 at home.

Wanda was born June 17, 1938 in South Bend, IN to Lloyd and Rose Hayes. She graduated from John Adams High School, Class of 1956 and Ball State University in 1960. Wanda was employed as a Librarian for many years at Brandywine High School, Niles, MI.

On December 28, 1963, she married Don Arend in Niles, MI. They were married for 53 years.

Wanda was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Niles, MI.

She enjoyed an active, spiritual life in service of her God, Jehovah for 42 years and was very zealous in the congregation.

Wanda is survived by her husband, Don and two children, Stephen of Chandler, AZ and Susan of Osceola, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Rose Hayes and a brother, Ray Hayes of Camarillo, CA.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan. Online condolences may be made at www.hovenfunerals.com.

The family is very appreciative for all the support from her family and the Niles congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses during her illness.
