MISHAWAKA - Pastor Edward L. Wilsberg, 68, residing in Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away at 12:33 PM Monday, February 20, 2017, at Elkhart General Hospital, Elkhart, IN.

Edward was born on May 28, 1948, in Fayette, Ohio, to the late Howard Wilsberg and Joan (Esterline) Wilsberg. Edward attended school at John Adams High School, South Bend. Following his years in high school, he attended Bethel College, Mishawaka, graduating in 1970 with a degree in Pastoral Studies. He also attended Nazarene Theological Seminary, Kansas City, MO, where he received his Master of Divinity in 1975. Edward proudly served our country for 38 years with the Department of Intelligence, retiring as Colonel Edward L. Wilsberg in 2016. Edward has served as Senior Pastor in the Church of the Nazarene and Missionary Church for 26 years, and most recently served as Chaplain with the Center for Hospice Care.

On June 1, 1968, in Mishawaka, at the former Liberty Drive Missionary Church (now College Park Missionary Church), Edward was united in marriage to Naomi Lynne (Nothstine) Wilsberg, who survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Beth Ann (Kevin) Smith of Arlington, TX; son, Josef Aslan Wilsberg of California; three grandchildren, Anna, Allie, and Andrew; and sister, Diane (Bill) Trethewey of Goshen, IN.

Edward will be remembered as a man who continually gave of himself to be all things to all people. His attitude of service towards all he knew was driven by his love for Jesus and making His love known to everyone. He valued people's heart as the most precious creation to be loved, overshadowed only by his love for Jesus' Spirit.

Funeral services for Pastor Edward will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 25, 2017, at College Park Missionary Church, 2014 Liberty Drive, Mishawaka, IN 46545. Graveside services with Military Rites will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family two hours prior to services at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Center for Hospice Care Hospice Foundation, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545. Ed passed away at the age of 68. After high school he attended Bethel College
and graduated in 1970 with a degree in Pastoral Studies. He also attended
Nazarene Rheological Seminary. In Kansas City, MD where he received his
Master of Divinity in 1975.

Edward proudly served our country for 38 years with
the Department of Intelligence, retiring as Colonel Edward L. Wilsberg in 2016.


He will be remembered as a man who continually gave of himself to be all things
