CITY - Carol (Lemontree), died Saturday at Cape Cod Hospital from complications associated with cancer.
 
Born in South Bend, Ind., Ms. City graduated from Boston University's School of Communication in 1967. Her career included work in Chicago as a public relations director for the Chicago Association for Retarded Citizens; in New York at the Rowland Company; in Beverly as manager of public relations for Parker Brothers; and on the Cape as vice president of public relations for the Commonwealth Group. For the past 16 years, she worked at Plimoth Plantation, most recently as associate director of marketing and public relations.
 
Her community and volunteer work included serving on the Board of Directors of Destination Plymouth; the International Marketing Committee of the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce; the tourism committee of the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce; and the promotion committee chair of the Plymouth Downtown Harbor Corporation. Ms. City was accomplished in sewing, needlepoint and knitting. She was a devoted animal lover and missed her black labrador, Emma, who died in January of this year. She loved preserving, decorating and living in antique and older houses. She lived in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Beverly and Newburyport before moving to Cape Cod in 1987. She was co-owner of the Dillingham House in Brewster, built in 1660, one of the oldest houses on Cape Cod.
 
She is survived by her mother, Rosalie Lemontree of New York City; a sister, Joyce Judd of Maryland; and John R. Ulven, Jr., her life partner since 1980.
 
A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Plimoth Plantation.
