SOUTH BEND - Kathe A. Rybicki, 70, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2015 in Hospice House, South Bend. Kathy was born on December 20, 1944 in Mishawaka to Stanley and Julia (Goegebuer) Refner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stan and Julia and her in-laws, Sylvester and Irene Rybicki. On February 27, 1965 in Mishawaka she married Kenneth Rybicki. They had just celebrated 50 years of marriage. Surviving are her husband, Kenneth; her children, Kolleen (Michael) Bennett of South Bend, Kelly Collins of Elkhart and Kevin (Rose) Rybicki of Mishawaka; six grandchildren, Hannah Rybicki, Nicholas Rybicki, Taylor Streb, Claire Collins, Brittney (Aaron) Lehman and David Stair; three great grandchildren, Callahan, Alexander and Maxwell; a sister, Diane (Jim) Daniels of Texas; sister-in-law, Carol Critchlow of South Bend; brother-in-law, Robert (Kay) Rybicki of Mishawaka and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kathe will be remembered for her infectious humor and ability to make people laugh. She was a sharp dresser, who liked to shop and accessorize. She enjoyed dancing. Kathe liked going to the casino, liked playing cards, NASCAR and her TV shows. Mom loved to cook and we were always assured a feast at family holidays. More than anything, Mom unconditionally loved her family. Even though Mom's health declined over the years, she was a courageous fighter up to the very end.
As per Kathe's wishes there will be no visitation and no services. Per her wish, Kathe would have wanted all who knew her to celebrate her life and not her passing.
