Susan Marie (Wilson) McCoy, 67, most loved wife, mother, sister and dear friend, passed away July 17, 2012, in Whiteland, leaving us saddened but also grateful for the gifts she brought to all the lives she touched.
We are comforted knowing Susan is rejoicing in Heaven with her personal Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a resident of Whiteland.
Susan was born in Mishawaka on July 14, 1945, to Francis W. and Beatrice G. (Diemer) Wilson. On July 11, 1964, she married Ralph A. McCoy Jr. in South Bend.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph A. McCoy; two children, Gregory L. (Linda M.) McCoy and Mindi A. (Steven D.) Schneider; a brother, Thomas Wilson; and five grandchildren, Courtney L. and Jenica Leigh McCoy, and Sarah A., Jill E. and David S. Schneider.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Douglas Wilson.
Susan fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming a nurse at the age of 49, graduating from Indiana University-South Bend School of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Her nursing career included caring for the elderly at Miller's Merry Manor in Mooresville. She continued her career and eventually retired from St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove.
To rejoice and celebrate the life of Susan, a memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Friendship Church, 936 E. Worthsville Road, Greenwood.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sue's honor to Friendship Church, 936 E. Worthsville Road, Greenwood, IN 46143.
Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, is handling arrangements.
