William J. Bridger, 47, of 54929 Eisenhower Drive, Elkhart, Ind., died after an extended illness at 6:35 p.m on Thursday, Oct. 29, in Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born on Dec. 18, 1950, in South Bend, Ind., and married Sharon Mayer on Jan. 5, 1990.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Sharon Bridger; a daughter, Natalie Bridger at home; two sons, Trevor Bridger at home, and Matt Sullivan of South Bend; two grandchildren; his father and stepmother, Gene and Sandra Bridger of Elkhart; his mother, Elizabeth Ann Snyder of South Bend; four brothers, Gene, Jr. of Elkhart, David and Michael of South Bend and Pierre of Indianapolis; three sisters, Kathleen Nuner of South Bend, Mary Bridger of Elkhart and Tamatha Dexter of Middlebury, Ind.

Friends may call one-half hour prior to the 11 a.m. Monday funeral at the Elkhart Chapel of Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home. Rev. Richard Dunn, Chaplain of Elkhart General Hospital will officiate. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.

Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of St. Joseph County.

Bill was a self-employed carpenter and was an avid World War I and II history buff. He was also more recently a computer enthusiast.

We will miss his big heart. Bill always loved his family and was a wonderful Son, Brother and Father.
