Joan Ann Miller

October 9, 1946 - January 26, 2017


Joan Ann Miller, daughter of Jerome C. and Virginia J. Beck Hoover, was born October 19, 1946 in South Bend, Indiana. She departed this life Thursday, January 26, 2017 in her home, at the age of seventy years, three months, and seven days.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gregg Miller, on June 11, 2007; and a twin sister, Jean Frye.

She is survived by her children, Joe Miller and wife Lou, of Linn Creek, Missouri, Stacey Pogue and husband Adam, of Wichita, Kansas, and Tim Miller of Moore, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Amanda, Jamie, Chelsea, Amber, Jimmy, Jacob, Zach, Lathan, Ashton, Chris, Joey, Brisana, Jakob, Lexie, Brooke, and Kelsey; her great-grandchildren, Shelby, Miyalissa, Isabella, Ariah, Olivia, Addalyn, Madison, Kinsley; a brother, Bill Hoover, of Clearwater, Florida; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Joan spent her younger years living in the South Bend, Indiana area and was a graduate of John Adams High School. She spent several years living in Andover, Kansas before making the Lake of the Ozarks her home.

Joan was baptized into the Catholic Church as an infant, and attended Harper Chapel United Methodist Church in Osage Beach for several years.

Joan was a devoted homemaker to her family, and loved her grandchildren dearly. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, baking, spending time outside soaking up the sun, and baby sat for many years.

Joan was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories she has created for her family and many dear friends.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 2, 2017 in Harper Chapel United Methodist Church, Osage Beach, Missouri. No Formal visitation is scheduled. Memorial donations may be made to the Dogwood Animal Shelter or Harper Chapel UMC in care of the funeral home at 15 Clint Avenue, Camdenton, MO 65020.
