SOUTH BEND - Ronald Spear, 65, residing in South Bend, IN passed away at 5:50 A.M. Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Hospice House, South Bend. He was employed with the South Bend Tribune for 18 years. Ron was born on April 15, 1945 in Morgantown, West Virginia.
He is survived by his girlfriend, Clarice Hattery; one brother, Bob Spear of Mishawaka; Clarice's sister, Rose Venable of Mishawaka; and two grandchildren, Brandy and William Venable that he loved very much.
Ron graduated from John Adams High School, South Bend. He enjoyed working in his yard and detailing his Suburban.
Memorial services for Ron will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to services.
