Barb was a good friend of mine while growing up in the Lincoln School/Fox Street neighborhood.  Her older brother,Emmet, was a good friend, big brother figure and role model for me, so I was at their house often.  We always had ball games or other activities going on in the street in front of their house and Barb participated often.  Barb was like another sister to me and we would talk and carry on for hours going over the problems and events confronting us as we grew up.  She was always wise, helpful and understanding, with a dose of humor included.  Barb was my first date in a car when I got my Regular driver license, the same day I got my license.  We went to the 4H County Fair.  She was a Brave girl.  After High School, we lost contact, as I did with everyone from those days.  We never reconnected, but I am sure she touched many lives as she continued through hers.  May her extended family and friends find comfort in the fact that she lived well and helped many.  Peace be with you all.  Ken Weichsel
