Scott R. Shawhan, 49, residing on Tonti Drive, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 4:10 p.m., Monday, Oct. 28, in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, of natural causes.

He was born on Sept. 1, 1947, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.

Surviving are his mother, Pat Shawhan Downs of South Bend; a sister, Susan Shawhan of South Bend; three nephews, Adam Klockow, Christopher Patterson and Patrick Austin; two great-nephews, Kyle and Brendan Klockow; and a great-niece, Samantha Klockow.

Scott's father, Richard Shawhan, preceded him in death June 27, 1989.

Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 31, at the Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. Merrill Hartman, pastor of the River Park United Methodist Church, will officiate. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of services, Thursday, at the funeral home.

Scott was a 1965 graduate of South Bend Adams High School.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
