SOUTH BEND - Kenneth C. Clawson, 84, passed on Thursday, May 12, 2016 in Lakeland, FL surrounded by his family. Ken was born in South Bend to Kenneth and Lois Clawson. He is survived by his wife Eileen of 65 years, their four daughters, Carol Clawson of Lakeland, FL, Vicki & Bill Fassler, Candy & Bill Coleman, Karen & Dan Frederick of Granger, IN, twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Ken graduated from Adams High School where he and Eileen met. He went on to run the family business, Ken Electric in River Park. After selling the business, he worked for the National Electrical Contractors Association for 25 years. He was member of the Free and Accepted Masons for 64 years, Scottish Rite for 56 years and 66 year member in I.B.E.W. He was a member of the Order of DeMolay and in 1968 became Chapter Dad, mentoring many young men in the area.

In 1991 they moved to South Haven where he volunteered with Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed fresh peaches, blueberries and raspberries from the local farmers and loved to watch the sailboats on Lake Michigan.

They retired in Lakeland, Florida in 1998. He was very involved in the community, serving as an Inspector for City and President of the Board in the Sandpiper Community where they lived. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards and traveling with Eileen. Ken had a great smile and was happiest when surrounded by his friends and family.

In Ken's honor you may make contributions to your local Hospice or the National Parkinson's Foundation. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Lakeland, FL.
