SOUTH BEND - Michael Gene Harris, Sr., age 56, of Rue Montesquieu, South Bend, IN, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at his residence following a brief illness.

Michael was born to Thomas James Harris and Eleanor Gordon on February 26, 1960, in Muncie, IN. Coming from Muncie he moved to South Bend, IN, in 1974. He graduated from John Adams in 1978. He married Deborah Jones on March 29, 1980, in South Bend. He graduated from Ivy Tech College and worked as a machinist. He received many achievements as a machine tool and die maker. His passions were sports, especially basketball & football.

Survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 36 years, Deborah Harris, two sons, Michael Gene Harris, Jr., and Paul Eugene Harris, seven grandchildren, Alyssa, Karis, Paul, Jr., Hope, Khloe, Armon & Isbella, his mother, Eleanor Gordon, one brother, Jimmy James Harris of Bloomington, IN, two sisters, Diane Williams and Linda Kay Harris, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Alford's Mortuary, with video display beginning at 10:30 a.m.
