Matthew J. Dennin

SOUTH BEND - Caring and devoted dad, brother, uncle and friend, Matt was born on September 5, 1960, in Sea Isle City, NJ, to Thomas F. and Kathleen Margaret (McPeak) Dennin. He passed away on June 18th in the loving company of family members and his dear friend, Karen Mitchell.

Matt worked in the RV industry much of his adult life. His job allowed him to travel the country, and he loved telling stories about some of the beautiful places he visited. He loved music and was very good at playing guitar. Matt loved spending time with family and friends, and thoroughly enjoyed telling stories to his nieces and nephews. He will be remembered as a loyal and loving friend. One who would drop everything to be there for a loved one. At times he was there when nobody else was. He was committed to his family and wanted nothing more than to see us all together and happy. He will be so greatly missed.

The dedicated and caring people of Ironwood Health and Rehab, The Center for Hospice Care, as well as the thoughts and prayers of our family and friends and the many people who visited and expressed their love for our brother have carried us through this unspeakable journey. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Matt leaves behind his daughter, Erin of Denver, CO; brothers, Tom of Indianapolis, Jim and Mike; his sister, and kindred spirit, Margaret Mary, and his "baby" sister, Patty (Kenny) Langley; nephews Matthew, Chris, Shaun, Dillon, Eric, Luke and Anthony; nieces Kaitlyn, Cassidy, Jamie, Kaylie and Kathleen; devoted girlfriend, Christine and her children, Kristen, Patrick and Michael; Aunt Rosemary, and countless friends. Preceding Matt was our sister, Veronica, and our parents, Tom and Kathleen.

God's speed Matt. We all love you so very much, and will miss you every day until we meet again. "As He calls us one by one the chain will link again." Visitation will be held today from 3-7 p.m. in McGann Hay, Forest G. Hay Chapel, 435 S. Ironwood Drive at Jefferson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Cathedral, 1701 Miami St., with Msgr. Michael Heintz, rector. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Matt's memory to The Center for Hospice Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637. To send condolences to the family, log on to www.McGannHay.com.
