James A. Severyn – Flemington, New Jersey, Jim passed away November 28, 2012 from leukemia.  Jim was captain of the John Adams Swim Team and went on to be captain of the Notre Dame Swim Team.  Jim also received a BA of Science and his MBA while at Notre Dame.  Jim had a highly successful career with Kurt Salmon, a global management consulting firm.  He was known as a passionate and dedicated leader and mentor, helping build and lead the firm as a senior partner and board director.  In his spare time, Jim was an accomplished woodworker, crafting much of the fine wood furniture in his home.  Jim loved tending to his garden and together with his wife, Suzanne, they enjoyed hot air ballooning.

FLEMINGTON, N.J. - James A. Severyn of Flemington, NJ, passed away on November 28, 2012. He was 56.

Born in South Bend, Indiana, Jim had been a Flemington resident for 18 years. Jim had a highly successful professional career with Kurt Salmon, a global management consulting firm. During his thirty-two years at Kurt Salmon, he earned a reputation as an expert in the apparel and footwear industries. He led teams that provided innovative services to many global industry leaders and was often quoted in the national news media. He was known as a passionate and dedicated leader and mentor, helping build and lead the firm as a Senior Partner and Board Director.

Jim took great pride in the home he shared with his wife of 19 years, Suzanne Hauss. An accomplished woodworker, he crafted much of the fine wood furniture in their home and also enjoyed woodturning. He loved sharing his work with family and friends. He lovingly tended their garden and took special care growing his heirloom tomatoes.

Jim and Suzanne together, enjoyed being involved in hot air ballooning. They regularly participated as crew members at may hot air ballooning festivals.

Jim earned his Bachelor of Science degree (1978) and his MBA (1980), both from the University of Notre Dame. He served a swim team captain at both John Adams High School in Souith Bend and at Notre Dame.

He was the loving husband of Suzanne Hauss; and devoted son of Dr. Stanley A. and Mary Jane Severyn of Notre Dame, Indiana; the beloved brother of Gary Severyn and wife, Kathryn of Naperville, Illinois, and of Ellyn Prescott and her husband, Bill of Berthoud, Colorado; the dear uncle of Stephanie, Nick, Kathleen, Brian and Julianne Severyn; and the son-in-law of Betty Hauss of Ambler, PA, and the late Joseph Hauss.

The family held a private funeral Mass in Philadelphia.
