SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) John Adams High School will never forget two of its graduates lost on 9/11.

Katie McCloskey and Kathy Hawk Nicosia

Katie McCloskey graduated from Adams in 1994 and was living her dream in New York, working in the World Trade Center.

Kathy Hawk Nicosia, class of '65, was a flight attendant on the same flight that crashed into Katie's tower.

On Monday, both were remembered in a special message to the student body.

"Sixteen years ago today, September 11, 2001, the largest terrorist attack on United States soil took place, killing thousands of innocent people. This morning we would like to recognize all of the lives that were lost that day, especially the lives of two John Adams High School graduates: Katie McCloskey and Kathy Hawk Nicosia.

"Katie McCloskey was a 1994 graduate of Adams and was living her dream of working and living in New York City when American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Katie is remembered every year with the Katie McCloskey Memorial Scholarship, which is awarded to one Adams High School graduating senior.

"Kathy Hawk was a 1965 graduate of John Adams High School and was living her dream of being a flight attendant on September 11th. Kathy lost her life on the same American Airlines Flight 11 that crashed into the North Tower. We would like to honor both of these John Adams Eagles today along with all who lost their lives in these tragic events."
