Patricia J. “Pat” Wright, 81, passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on September 22, 2015. She was born July 1, 1934, to the late Charles and Lillian (Lloyd) Parker.

She graduated from John Adams High School in 1952 and was on the reunion committee for many years and a long standing member of the South Bend Alumni Association. She attended Indiana University for 3 years and is a member of the Indiana University Alumni Association.

On September 10, 1954, Pat married the love of her life, James Chegwin Wright. He survives. Also left to cherish her memory are three children, Kevin (Diana) Wright of Nashville, IN, Julie Wright of Mishawaka, and Debbie Wright and husband Dr. Stephen Linville of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; three grandchildren, Trevor and Jillian Wright of Nashville, IN and Curtis Terry of Mishawaka, IN; and two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Katelyn Terry, both of South Bend, IN.

Pat was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. She was a talented actress, having been in many plays through her life. Once her children became adults, she started a career in service. She was the former treasurer, President and board member of the South Bend Civic Theatre. She was active in Service Guild, Schoolman’s Wives, Daughters of the American Revolution Schuyler Colfax chapter, The South Hold Preservation Society, National Trust for Historic Preservation, A 50 year member of The St Joe County chapter of the Eastern Star, Indiana Landmarks, Presbyterian Players, and a National associate member of the Smithsonian Institution. She was proud of the many awards she was granted, including one for the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution School Committee, and being a Golden Rule Benefactor from 1981 – 1983.

She was a long time resident of Diamond Lake and a member of the Diamond Lake association, and a resident of Estero, Fl where she and James spent the winter months.
She was known and loved by many. Her legacy will not be forgotten.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the Fire House Theatre at 701 Portage Ave, South Bend, IN from 3 – 8 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the South Bend Civic Theatre.
