Shirley Jean Hatfield

Shirley J. Hatfield, 62, of U.S. 20 West, South Bend, Ind., passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at St. Joseph's Medical Center.

Shirley was born on Nov. 6, 1934, in South Bend, to Bruce and Ellen Thomas. She married Carl Cook on April 2, 1955, in South Bend, who preceded her in death on Sept. 28,1980. Shirley married Alvin Hatfield on June 11, 1986, in South Bend, who survives.

She is also survived by two daughters, Karin Cook and Kim Cook, both of South Bend; a son, Kirk Cook of South Bend; and four grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Thomas in 1984, and by a sister, Betty Lennon in 1995.

Shirley was employed by High Spec Wheel & Tire. She was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church, and of the Euchre Club.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street. Cremation will take place at Michiana Crematory.

There will be no visitation; the family will greet friends following the services.
