William E. Davidson

May 14, 1949 - Feb. 20, 2018

MISHAWAKA - William Edward Davidson, 68, of Mishawaka, died February 20, 2018 in Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, IN after a gallant battle with lung problems developed in January of 2018. He was born May 14, 1949 to Hubert and Elizabeth (Wehrmeyer) Davidson, both of whom have preceded him in death.

Mr. Davidson graduated in 1967 from John Adams High School and served as an automobile mechanic in the greater South Bend-Mishawaka area for 40+ years. He was last employed at Certified Transmissions for 15+ years before retiring.

Various activities occupied his time throughout his adult lifetime. Bill belonged to the 1965-66 Full Sized Chevy Club and enjoyed the camaraderie of its many members. His 1965 Chevy Impala convertible, along with his family, traveled the U.S. to many club meets. He followed NASCAR and was fortunate to attend the Brickyard for several years. After retirement, he enjoyed wintering in Florida, golfing, spending time with other “snow birds”, and working on projects within, and to improve, the condo community. He was also a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, South Bend, and found camaraderie, peace, and comfort within the church community.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 36 years, Barbara Bowie Davidson of Mishawaka; his daughter, Erin (Brent) Mould of Indianapolis; his grandchildren, Brayden, Gavyn, McKyla, and Kolesyn all of Indianapolis; his sister, May (Tom) Wisniewski of South Bend; his brother, John (Pat) Davidson of Lawrenceville, GA; sister-in-law, Cindi (John) Reedy of Louisville, KY; and several adored nieces and nephews. Last, but not least, his canine girl, Vickie, will miss his enduring pets.

Visitation for Bill will be held Friday, March 2, 2018, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561 from 4-8 PM, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 17195 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46635, where services will be held at 10 AM with Pastor Brad Davick officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ the King Lutheran Church, 17195 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46635; or to Methodist Hospital, 1701 Senate Boulevard, Indianapolis, IN 46202, Critical Care Unit.
