For some reason John's obituary does not show up in the SBTribune online database, but here's the full text from a scanned copy: Mr. John Panzica, 51, passed away very unexpectedly on Saturday, May 19, in Marietta, Ga. He was born Feb. 11, 1950, in South Bend, Ind., to Anthony J. and Irene A. (Gember) Panzica, who survive. He is also survived by his wife, Donna; daughter, Terra Ashley Peel of South Bend; two grandchildren, Noah Gene and Neah Talor, South Bend; five brothers, (his identical twin) James J., Michael W., Philip E., Thomas C., William A., all of South Bend; and by two sisters, Carolyn M. Zhiss of Wheaton, Ill., and Elizabeth A. Newman of San Jose, Calif. Mr. Panzica was a 1968 graduate of John Adams High School, and a 1974 graduate of Ball State University with a BS in finance. In 1976 John, Jim and their father established Panzica Construction, Inc. In 1990 he moved to Florida to pursue real estate and other ven­tures. On Jan. 11, 1993, he married Donna M. Peel in Florida. In 1995 he returned to South Bend and began the Panzica Construction Management Company which he operated until the lime of death. John was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, was a licensed private pilot, a certified scuba diver, and enjoyed water sports. He was especially commit­ted to the cause of mentally handicapped children. Friends and family may call from 4:00 PM to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 23rd, in -the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 Ireland Road, South Bend. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, May 24th, in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, followed by entombment at Riverview Cemetery. Father John P. Riley, CSC, will conduct the funeral Mass.
