Casimer "Casey" Szewczyk
June 30, 1942 - October 9, 2022
South Bend - Casimer L. Szewczyk, 80, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022.
Casimer L. was born June 30, 1942 in South Bend, to the late Casimer R. and Evelyn (Woltman) Szewczyk-Hagman.
Left to cherish the memory of Casey is his twin-sister, Lillian (Terry) Corrigan of Horseshoe Bay, TX, other sisters, Marcia Bogar of MI. and Charlotte (Bob) Gardner of New Carlisle; aunt, Patricia Sobczak; and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Casey graduated from St. Hedwig Elementary School, and John Adams High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Casey worked in Burns Harbor as a steel worker for over 30 years until retiring. He was a member of the American Legion Post 284. He spent a lot of time with his fellow veterans at the legion. Casey enjoyed contributing to his casino hobby and traveling, especially to Europe with his sister, Lil. Casey's family and friends enjoyed visiting his house for his famous pool parties.
Visitation will be 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday, October 14, 2022 in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

George H. Winkelmann (1961)

I'm sorry to hear of Casey's passing.  He was a year ahead of me at John Adams, but we knew each other, and passed by, saying 'hello' many times, while wandering the hallowed halls of JAHS.  As I recall he was always one of the good guys.  I pray for many blessings for his friends and family as they share happy memories of a life well lived.  God bless you one and all.  Another Eagle has flown into the clouds.  G
