Rosalie Hayes, 75, of New Carlisle, IN went home to be with the Lord at 6:35 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Hamilton Grove. She was born on July 28, 1938 in South Bend, IN to the late Geddis "Mac" and Cora (Brummit) McEwan.

On May 5, 1962 at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Lakeville, IN she married the love of her life, William B. Hayes.

Mrs. Hayes is survived by her husband, William B. Hayes; two daughters, Lori Ann (Mark) Lang of North Liberty, IN and Kristina Marie Egick of Niles, MI; two sons, David (Michele) Hayes of South Bend, IN and Edward (Denise) Hayes of Granger, IN and eight beloved grandchildren, Jonathon David, Alyssa Rose, Bradley Michael, Joshua William, Olivia Ruby, Edison Ray, Savannah Aleeza and Miles Thomas Boyd. She and William gave their love and time to many foster children over the years.

Rosalie was as beautiful inside as she was outside. She became a nurse in 1988 and was adored by her patients. She had such a compassionate and giving heart and she loved her patients, family and the Lord with every piece of it. She was so joyful and could always be heard singing Gospel music. Today she is singing with her Lord and Savior in Heaven; what a wonderful sound that must be. She retired as a register nurse where she worked at St. Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka, St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend, IN and Elkhart County Hospital. She was a member of the Nappanee Missionary Church. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Hamilton Grove and Hospice for their love and support.
