Raymond G. "Ray" Nordblad 72, of Indianapolis, passed away on October 27, 2010. He was born on August 5, 1938 in South Bend, Indiana to Fred and Nora Nordblad.
 
After graduating from John Adams High School in 1956, Ray enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and was stationed in Brunswick Maine. After the Navy, Ray worked as an Air Traffic Controller and was also a PATCO union representative. Ray and Edie re-located to Indianapolis where Ray worked as a Security Officer before retiring to be the primary care giver to his beloved wife Edith. Ray and Edie enjoyed 39 years together. Ray was an avid fan and enjoyed Notre Dame (GO IRISH)\Colts Football, open wheel racing, politics (Avid Democrat), world events, travel, outdoor cooking and loved spending time with family and friends.
 
Ray is survived by his wife Edith; his children, Raelene White; daughter, Rick (Peggy) Nordblad; son, Tim Fitzwater, son, Rick (Beverly) Fitzwater; son, Kathryn Curtis; daughter, Michael (Lisa) Fitzwater; son, Joanie Fitzwater; daughter, Pat (Jim) McCrum; sister, Judy (Ed) DeCraene, 13 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Nora Nordblad, Jack Nordblad; brother, Bernice Hartman; sister, Fred Nordblad, brother.
 
There will be no services or visitation. A family gathering and celebration of his life will be scheduled at a later date. To summarize his life in his words "It's nothing but a Party." He will be truly missed by all, we love you Dad.
