MISHAWAKA - Judith Gassensmith, 75, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on October 10, 2013. Born September 19, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Bay Ruth (Day) Shenenberger.

Judy married Edward "Pat" Gassensmith November 10, 1956. He preceded her in death April 26, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her two infant children, Joseph and Jennifer. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Jessica (Frank) Baker of Noblesville, IN, and Maria (Brad) Evans of Carmel, IN; three sons, Vincent (Kathy) Gassensmith of Fort Myers, FL, David Gassensmith of Mishawaka, and Kurt (Lisa) Gassensmith of Noblesville, IN; ten grandchildren, Jeremiah (Katie) Gassensmith of Allen, TX, Trinity (Matt) Jennison of Boston, MA, Paige and Danielle Evans of Carmel, IN, Krista Baker of Noblesville, IN, Jordyn, Alexa, and Joseph Gassensmith of Noblesville, IN and Nicole and Jason Pfau of Noblesville, IN; two great grandchildren, Xavier and Judah Gassensmith of Allen, TX and her brother, Kurt Shenenberger of Mishawaka.

Also cherishing her memory is Janet Shafer of Mishawaka who was just like a daughter to Judy and whose love and support mean the world to her family. Judy was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She worked in the administration department at National Steel for many years. Her family was her life. She was always there to celebrate their good times and console them during their tough times. She was their biggest fan and best friend.

Visitation will be held at Little Flower Catholic Church, 54191 N. Ironwood South Bend, on Monday, October 14, 2013 at 10:00AM followed with mass at 11:00AM. Burial will take place at a later date.
