William Carl Taylor

COTTAGE GROVE — The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 17, at Unity of the Valley Church in Eugene for William "Bill" Taylor of Cottage Grove, who died June 8 of heart disease. He was 71.
Taylor was born July 16, 1938, in Chicago to William and Mildred Halter Taylor.
He graduated from John Adams High School in South Bend, Ind., and attended Indiana University. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a computer programmer and served as executive director of the American Heart Association in Northern California.
Survivors include a daughter, Shannon Summa of Maryland, and three grandchildren.
Arrangements by Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove. Remembrances to Oregon Public Broadcasting or Unity of the Valley Church.
