Donald K. Bell, 72, of Indianapolis, departed this life April 23, 2013. He was born October 10, 1940 in Chicago, IL to Armin and Florence Bell.

Don worked as a consulting systems engineer at IBM for 29 years, retiring in 1993 before returning to work with American States Insurance as data base administrator for 10 years, retiring in 2003. Don then worked at McGraw – Hill. For many years, Don relished volunteering at the Indiana State Museum. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, K of C Council #3433 and Delta Upsilon Fraternity at Purdue University.

He was preceded in death by his parents and half-brother, James Mahs of Chicago. Don is survived by his wife of 51 years: Rose Mary Bell; children, Elizabeth “Puff” (David) Linville of Chandler, AZ, Gregory (Dawn) Bell of Noblesville and their children, Lindsay, Samuel and Aaron and Christopher (Melanie) Bell of Carmel and their children, Jacob and Summer.

Don is also survived by his sister, Deborah (Andrew) Becher of Denver, CO.

Visitation will be Friday, April 26th from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary (71st and Keystone). Funeral services will be Saturday, April 27th, 9:15 am in the mortuary followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Contributions may be made to Riley Children’s Foundation in his name.
