BARBARA ALICE (DICKEY) GILBERT, 64, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born in South Bend, she was a Lab Technician for Parkview Medical Clinic. "She was passionate about her grandchildren and tennis." She was a member of Wildwood Raquet Club, was a tennis referee at the 1984 Olym-pics and several U.S. Open tournaments. She was a member of The Chapel.
Survivors include sons, Dr. John Gilbert and Dr. Thomas Gilbert, both of Fort Wayne; daughter, Suzanne Swinehart of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren; brothers, Dr. Keith Dickey of Edwardsville, Ill. and Dr. Stephen Dickey of Tampa, Fla. She was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Dickey, in 1999.
Service is 1 p.m. Saturday at The Chapel, 2505 W. Hamilton. Calling is from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials to The Chapel Foundation.
