Linda L. White, 67, of South Bend, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2006, in her home. She was born October 3, 1938, in South Bend, to Orville F. and Hazel M. (Powell) McChesney, and had remained a lifelong resident of this area.
On July 22, 1961, in South Bend, as Linda McChesney, she married R. Calvin White, who survives. She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Robert McAughan of Houston, TX; her son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Cindy White of Indianapolis, IN; and by six grandchildren, DeVan and Garrett White, Aaron, Peter, Brian and Philip McAugan. Also surviving are a sister, Barbara Miller of South Bend; and her twin brother, Larry (Elsie) McChesney of South Bend.
Mrs. White was preceded in death by her parents, and by a brother, Orville I. McChesney, on March 19, 2001.
Private services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2006, in Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel. Rev. Ron Bowman of First United Methodist Church, Mishawaka, officiated. Burial was at Sumption Prairie Cemetery, South Bend.
