SOUTH BEND - Carol M. Vrydaghs, 57, of Bloomington, Ind., formerly of South Bend, died at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday in Bloomington Hospital. Mrs. Vrydaghs retired from Bradley University, Peoria, Ill., as a professor of English. She was born Nov. 18, 1938, in South Bend. As Carol M. Weldy, she married Raymond Vrydaghs. He survives with a daughter, Maura Vrydaghs of San Francisco; a son, Joseph of Alameda, Calif.; her father, Myron D. Weldy of South Bend; and a sister, Sandra L. Badger of Post Falls, Idaho. She was a graduate of Ball State University and Indiana University.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Burgoon Baptist Church, Bloomington. Burial will be in Burgoon Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in Deremiah-Frye Mortuary Greene & Harrell Chapel, Bloomington. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
