MISHAWAKA - Lorraine A. Kish, 87, residing in Mishawaka, IN, passed away at 11:35 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2012 at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. Lorraine was born on November 4, 1924 in South Bend to the late Lawrence and Mary Akre and has been a lifelong resident of this area.

Lorraine attended John Adams High School and was a member of their first graduating class. She worked as a bookkeeper for several accounting firms and enjoyed volunteering for the American Cancer Society . Lorraine also enjoyed bowling and playing bridge.

She was married to Rex M. Von Bergen, who preceded her in death, and later married Joseph J. Kish, Sr., who also preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Von Bergen of Oakland, CA and JoAnn Von Bergen of St. Louis, MO; four step-children, Joseph Kish, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL, Barbara Kish Blume of Granger, James Kish of Valparaiso and John Kish of South Bend; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her sister, Eleanor Emrick of Mishawaka.

Funeral services for Lorraine Kish will be Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 3:00 PM in Palmer Funeral Home - River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, where friends may gather for two hours prior to the service.
