Camiel J. De Keglaer, 81, of Osceola, passed away in the evening of Wednesday, December 28 in his home.

Camiel was born on February 24, 1924, in South Bend, as the son of Louis and Eugenie (Pickavet) De Keglaer. He was preceded in death by his parents.

On June 14, 1975, in South Bend, he married the former Dorothy L. Cinkoske. They later renewed the their vows on August 28, 2004, in Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Mishawaka.

Surviving Camiel are his loving wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Pam (Paul) Yorke of Batavia, Ill.; a son, Paul De Keglaer of South Bend; two grandchildren, Emily and Kyle Yorke; and a sister, Martha Pepin of Mishawaka.

Camiel received his BS from Tri-State College. He worked for NIPSCO as a Sales Engineer for 35 years before he retired in 1981. He was in the United States Naval Reserves and was a past president of the Mishawaka Kiwanis Club. He was Lt. Governor twice for the Indiana Kiwanis. Camiel was an avid golfer, he enjoyed square dancing; and wintered in Mission Texas for 20 years. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Mishawaka; was a member of Wings in South Bend and Mishawaka Pilots Club. He flew for 60 years and retired from flying in 2005.

Family and friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30 in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, where a Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday December 31 in Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Richard Hire officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
