MISHAWAKA - Russell "Ed" King, 87, of Mishawaka, passed away Friday morning, August 20, 2010, in his home. He worked for the Bendix Corporation and later retired from the Bayer Corporation in Elkhart. He was born December 21, 1922, in South Bend, to the late Clarence and Clara King.

He is survived by his former wife, Dorothy, and his brother, Robert King; two nieces, Cindy King and Joan Miller; and a nephew, Robert King.

Ed was preceded in death by his brother, Jerome King.

Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46637. Funeral services and military honors will follow at 6:00 p.m. Rev. Vito A. Rulli will officiate.

Ed was a World War II Army veteran and served a portion of his years in New Guinea.

He was a graduate in the first graduating class of John Adams High School.
