SOUTH BEND -- Mary Jane Turnock, 82, of Jenison, MI, formerly of South Bend, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 23, in Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods, Byron Center, MI.
Mary Jane was born April 9, 1924, in South Bend, to Felix and Bess (Hall) Mischker, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 16, 1946, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, she married Louis Joseph Turnock, who died March 6, 1977.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol (Doug) Eyster of Ohio and Jill (Rick) Drerup of Michigan; and a son, Timothy (Jan) Turnock of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Susan and Davis Tully, Lori Turnock Biwer and Todd Biwer, Jessica Jacob, Mitchell and Courtney Eyster, Kelly Eyster, Andrew and Amanda Drerup, Elizabeth and Matthew McGaughey; great-grandchildren, Emily Tully, Charles Tully and Daniel McGaughey; and a sister, Jacqueline Glove of Florida.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday Jan. 26, in St. Joseph Church (Hill and LaSalle Streets), South Bend, with Rev. Stephen Sedlock, CSC, assistant pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be said at 5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice at St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
