Violet B. Winter

Violet B. Winter, 60, of 809 S. Camden St., died at 1:15 a.m. today in St. Joseph’s Medical Center. Mrs. Winter was a former supervisor at Bonnie Doon’s Ice Cream Corp.
She was born Oct. 10, 1925, in Bethel, Conn., and lived in South Bend the past 40 years, coming from Bethel. On Sept. 6, 1947, in South Bend, as Violet B. Smith, she married Joseph Winter, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Jacqueline Diane Collens of Union; a grandchild; two sisters, Virginia Smith of California and Beatrice Smith of Walkerton; two brothers, Richard and John Smith, both of Plymouth; and her mother, Eva Smith of Plymouth.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
