Elmer Louis Torok

Feb. 4, 1924 - Jul. 2, 2007

SOUTH BEND -- A thanks to Louis Torok and Ella Torok (both deceased) who brought me into this world on February 4, 1924, who nourished, schooled, supported and mentored me through my formative years. To all my friends, teachers, employers, religious, and those who touched my life for good or for bad: "Thank you," it made the ride through life interesting.

A special thank you to the Heart of my Heart and Flesh of my Flesh, my dear wife, Jean (Gooley) Torok, for her many years of support and the four caring, beautiful, talented children we were blessed to have during our marriage, Frances (Larry) Isgrigg of Fairbanks, Alaska, Patrick (Vicki) Torok of Cincinnati, OH, Anne B. Klosowski of LaPorte and Paul L. Torok of Milwaukee, WI. The above children blessed Jean and I with eight grandchildren: Jessica Ilampey and Alexis Hill, both of Alaska, Celesta Torok and Gabriel Torok, both of South Bend, Ian Torok and Alex Torok, both of Cincinnati, OH, and Daniel Klosowski and Scott Klosowski, both of LaPorte, IN. Two of the older granddaughters have given birth to five great-grandchildren, Timothy Hampey, Cody Hampey, Emily Hampey, Yazmen Rhodes and Charles Hill, all of Alaska. As for the remaining grandchildren who are in their formative years, time will mold their destinies.

Thank you all -- see you in the Great Beyond -- till then "Keep the Faith."

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 5, in St. Anthony dePadua Catholic Church, 2120 E. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, IN 46615. Friends may call from 4 to 7:30 p.m. today in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony dePadua Catholic Church or to the Center for Hospice.
