NILES - Alice M. Herman, 86, of Niles, Michigan, passed away at 7:05 a.m. Friday, February 25, 2011, in Memorial Hospital. Alice was born April 1, 1924, in South Bend, to the late Edward J. and Hattie (Kashmer) Zeitler.
On July 27, 1946, in South Bend, Alice married Chester J. Herman, who passed away November 19, 1992. She was also preceded in death by a son, James Herman; sister, Virginia Zeitler; and her brother, John Zeitler. Alice is survived by her son, Michael (Patricia) Herman of Niles, MI; grandchildren, Adam, Thomas, Ryan and Stephanie Herman, Jessica (Glenn) Ringer; and daughter-in-law, Donna Herman of Niles, MI.Alice had worked as a secretary for Precision Metal Fabricators in Niles, MI.
Private family services will be held at Highland Cemetery, with Rev. James Campbell officiating. In Alice's memory, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society , 601 W.
