Mrs. Rebecca S. Bottorff, 28, of 640 Indiana Ave., died unexpectedly Sunday in her home. She had been a resident of this city since 1960, coming here from South Bend.

Mrs. Bottorff was born Aug. 12, 1940, in Terre Haute, Ind., and as Miss Rebecca Hurst married Richard Bottorff April 8, 1960.

She is survived by her husband; a son, James Richard Bottorff and a daughter, Laura, both at home; her father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Hurst, South Bend; one sister, Mrs. Robert Buck, Nashua, N.H.; three half-sisters, Charmaine Hurst, South Bend, and Nancy and Michael, both of Ajo, Ariz.; five half-brothers, Kenneth and John Lingo of Mishawaka; James Linzey Hurst and Michael Hurst of South Bend, and David Dyorich of Ajo, and a step sister, Mrs. Patricia Vanacker of Mishawaka.

Mrs. Bottorff was a member of the Citizens Fair Housing Committee of St. Joseph County and the Mishawaka Human Relations Committee. She attended Lamar State College of Technology, Beaumont, Texas and was a recent graduate of Indiana University, South Bend.

Friends may call in the Sprague Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Rev. Daniel Stolzfus, pastor of the South Bend Community Mennonite Church, will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
