Carol Sue Hardman Raymond

March 9, 1952 – June 18, 2021

SOUTH BEND- Carol Sue Hardman Raymond, 69, passed away peacefully at 2:36 a.m., Friday, June 18, 2021.

Carol was born in South Bend, IN on March 9, 1952 to the late Clyde and Beatrice (Sayler) Hardman. On November 24, 1972, in South Bend, she married the love of her life, Joseph Raymond. He preceded her in death in 2020.

Left to cherish her memory are three sons: Joshua (Elizabeth), Joseph, and Anthony “Tony” (Anastasia) all of South Bend; brother, Jody Hardman of Allen, TX; Aunt, Irene “Nellie” Hay of South Bend; nephew, Aubrey; and three nieces, Jennifer, Morgan and Blake.

Carol was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She graduated from IUSB with a degree in Accounting. She excelled in her career and received the Six Sigma Black Belt. She was an avid quilter, loved to play World of Warcraft, and obtained her beautician license so she could cut her family and friend’s hair. She showed tremendous strength and absolute grace to the very end.

The family will have a celebration of Carol’s life from 5-7p.m. Wednesday, June 30, at the McGann Hay, University Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Rd., near Ironwood. Memorial donations, in Carol’s memory, may be directed to a local charity that supports women.
