Ray Justus Loar, 49, of 1218 S. 26th St., died at 4:10 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Hospital after a six-week illness. He was employed by Uniroyal of Mishawaka.

Born March 30, 1934, in Latty, Ohio, he lived most of his life in South Bend. On Feb. 19, 1955, in South Bend, he married Barbara A. Jensen, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Pamela Mahoney of South Bend; two sons, Richard R. of Mishawaka and Robert R. at home; four grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Eva Temple of Oakwood, Ohio; four sisters, Mrs. Louis Thomas of Oakwood, Mrs. Phyllis Merritte of Melrose, Ohio, Mrs. Caren Mears of South Bend and Mrs. Betty Meuleman of Eagle River, Wis.; and a brother, Glen Grunden of Oakwood.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Hollis-Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., Rev. John R. Parks, pastor of River Park United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
