John Thomas Meehan

John Thomas Meehan, 67, of South Bend, Ind., passed away of a heart attack on Thursday, July 8, while at home.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 5 p.m. today, July 11, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka, Ind. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 12, in the Hahn Funeral Home, with Pastor Dan Berger officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
John was born on Dec. 2, 1936, in Terre Haute, Ind., and was a graduate of Adams High School, South Bend. He entered the United States Navy in 1954 where he was a Vietnam veteran and served his country with honor for 20 years. He was also a retiree of the Allied Signal/Honeywell Corporation of South Bend.
John and his loving wife of 11 years, Carolyn, enjoyed traveling and spending time together. As friends and family know, John was an avid golfer, and especially loved working in his yard at their South Bend home where he passed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Caroline Meehan; a previous wife, Rosemary (File) Meehan; and by brothers, Frank and Jim.
He is grieved by his caring wife, Carolyn (Coddens Hall) Meehan; three sons, John (Mindy) Meehan Jr., Martin Meehan and Kevin Meehan, all of South Bend; two daughters, Patricia (Bruns) Grahl of Cassopolis, Mich., and Tina (Coddens) (Donald) Tencher of South Kingston, R.I.; grandchildren, Jake and Ryan Meehan, Randi Hoffman, Paige and Quinton Clark, and Paul Tencher; sisters, Betty Young of Laketon, Ind., Helen (Frank) Morin of Terre Haute, Ind., and Dorothy (Michael) Michaels of Spring Hill, Fla.; numerous special nieces and nephews; and a host of very dear friends and close neighbors.
