Louise (Taylor) Green

Louise Green, 87, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 3, 2022, in Houston, Texas. Louise was born to the union of Dollie Lee Taylor and Isaac Taylor in Macon, Georgia on January 12, 1935.

Louise graduated from John Adams High School, South Bend, Indiana in 1954. She was joined in holy matrimony with Charles Curtis Green on November 25, 1961. She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved husband, Charles Curtis Green; three children, Gina Chere’ (David) Johnson of Cypress, Texas, Charles Curtis Green II of Atlanta, Georgia, Bryan Fitzgerald Green of Cypress, Texas and a stepson, Anthony Curtis (Sheila) Green of Coppell, Texas. She has eight grandchildren; Reneisha Danee’ Williams, Charles Curtis Green III, Markell Devon Williams, Matthew Kyle Aghayere-Green, Aviara Juliana Green, Caleb Fitzgerald Green, Malaika Nyree Green and Ciristen Stanley Joseph. She leaves one sister, Mary Ann (Buford) Hilliard of South Bend, Indiana; three brothers, Benjamin (Marlene) Taylor and Carl (Marilyn) Taylor of South Bend, Indiana, and James (LaVonne) Taylor of Atlanta, Georgia and one great-granddaughter, Reniya Charlynne Williams.

Louise cherished her time as a stay-at-home mom until the last of her children were in school and then she embarked in a career in retail and was employed by Macy’s Corporation for 15 years until her retirement in 2011.

Louise loved spending holidays with her family, hosting, and cooking meals for everyone and always made you feel at home. She was an excellent cook, infamously known for her German Chocolate Cake for which she received many compliments. She was an avid reader, loved gardening, traveling and had an adventurous spirit. She always made time for everyone and always provided support and love for her family. Her smile was contagious, and she had a heart of gold. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents Isaac and Dollie Lee Taylor, a son, Timothy Green, five brothers; Rueben Taylor, Benner Taylor, Joseph Taylor, Sanford Taylor and David Taylor and four sisters, Lena Beaver, Alice Milon, Ruth Johnson, and Grace Williams.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 15, 2022, from 9:00am-11:00am at Palmer Funeral Home – West Chapel, 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend, Indiana 46628 with funeral service at 11:00am and burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, South Bend.
